Course Details: Hospice and Palliative Care Acupuncture
This new updated, expanded course gives the reader insights into the history and current practices of hospices. For acupuncturists who want to work or volunteer with their local hospice, this course will orient them to the general roles of an interdisciplinary team. It focuses on specific acupuncture protocols to help patients and their circle of care move through the grieving process. The book offers insights into signs and symptoms of active dying as they relate to Oriental medicine and patient examinations, including pulse and tongue diagnosis. Allopathic Hospice diagnoses are explained, and bridged with acupuncture prescriptions and Chinese Herbal treatments, and insights from Asian medical research studies related to each diagnosis.
This course is accepted by the National Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Acupuncturists (NAHPCA.com) as part of their requirements for professional certification. Acupuncture professionals who qualify, may chose to join the association, and are then allowed to use the title: Certified Provider of Hospice and Palliative Care Acupuncture (CPHPCA), and are listed on the NAHPCA’s certified Professional Directory. The course fee includes the ebook, study questions, and the NCCAOM PDA certificate on successful completion of the examination.
